Why am I Always Happy?

Life gives us thousands of reasons to laugh and smile, and I believe we should take advantage of that every chance we get.

However, we can't hide from the fact that life is not fair. Bad things still happen. There is still suffering in the world. Such is life.

Humans are broken. Created by a God with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), we rebelled and sinned, separating us from God (Isaiah 59:2Romans 3:23).

Try though we may, we will never be good enough to fix it ourselves. Have you ever told a lie or taken something not yours to take? Looked with lust? Hated someone without a cause?  "Sure, but doesn't everybody?" Yep. But James 2:10 says that being guilty of one is being guilty of all. Further, the wages of sin is death.

Sin is no laughing matter. We all do it and it leaves us separated from a Perfect and Just God. When we die, we go to Hell. It is described in the Bible as a place so horrible, one would be better off tearing their eye out to keep from going there.

BUT THERE IS VERY GOOD NEWS!

It doesn't have to be this way.
Read these verses. Nicodemus had the same question many people today have. What does it take to be saved? What can one possibly do?
We owed God a debt we could never repay. We committed a crime against God, and had a legal fine for the sins we've committed, but Jesus stepped forward to pay it all. He paid the fine. Jesus came to earth, lived a perfectly sinless life, was crucified and took your sin with Him. He was dead for three days and rose again, defeating death itself! If we repent of our sins, and place our trust in Jesus Christ, He will save us (Romans 10:9-10; Hebrews 7:25; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:8; Isaiah 55:6-7Romans 8:38-39).

Most of the posts you will see on this blog were written with the intent to make you smile, because happiness is hard to come by. Friends, let me tell you that the only true happiness is found in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. If you repent of your sins and trust in Him alone, He WILL save you. That's a promise!

So why am I always so happy? I have ups and downs like everyone else. Life isn't fair at all. But I'm a new creature, the old me who used to sin a lot has been proverbially crucified with Christ. Life down here on earth may seem bleak, but I have an eternity in Heaven waiting for me, guaranteed. THAT'S something to be happy about!

If you haven't put your trust in Jesus yet, don't let it go another day unsettled. You will always have the chance no matter what you do, but once you die, your decision will be final.
